In terms of the base 7 system, we are currently aligned with the year 1938 (7 x 12 years ago). That was the year Nazi Germany invaded Czechoslovakia. In 1939, Germany invaded Poland, and many historians consider that to be the start of World War 2 in Europe. That occurs again next year, 2023. After a seven-month ceasefire, Germany plowed through the Low Countries and then invaded France. That was in 1940, which next appears in 2024.
We are currently aligned with other key years not associated with World War 2 ... and some of these other years have been exerting tremendous influence over the past several years. 1957, for example, brought us a repeat of the Asian Flu pandemic in 2020 in the form of COVID-19. Asian Flu continued to cause many deaths in its endemic phase during the winter of certain years, such as 1960. Most winters were mild. It combined with another influenza in 1968 and became the Hong Kong Flu pandemic, which had good and bad winters during its endemic stage which lasted until 1972. The entire period of both pandemics and intervening endemics was 15 years. Thus, it is possible we will have to contend with COVID-19 as a seasonal contagion, some winters mild others severe, until 2031 at which time it may combine with another SARS-related pathogen, causing yet another pandemic, but of shorter endemic duration, being over by 2035.
Other key years at this time include 1791, 1861, 1924, 1959, 1980, 1994, 2008, and 2015.
Russia's return to Ukraine was last year, 2021, seven years after the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The current crisis is a continuation of that return last year and, due to the link with 1938, could indeed be a trigger for World War 3, if not this year (2022) then next year (2023).
Until now there have not been any real comparisons between current and recent years and those of the 1930's. No Great Depression followed the 2008 Crash to plague the world for over a dozen years, neither China nor North Korea has invaded anyone as of yet (no comparison to the Japanese Invasion of Manchuria, 1931), no Italian invasion of Ethiopia as in 1935, no Spanish Civil War (which lasted only three years, while Syria's lasted over a decade), and no uncontested Democratic Party reign like that of FDR. The Democratic rule was broken for 4 years by Republican president Donald Trump. Thus, there have been no reasons to study the 1930's at this time.
